It's For Life

Since the founding of Gamma Sigma Sigma in 1952, we have thrived and expanded to include many collegiate and alumni organizations while making a positive impact on the communities in which we live and learn. The lifelong friendships you will make through your sorority will last into post-graduation years.

What is a Member-in-Training?

A person is considered a member in training after going through the first of two ceremonies, called initiation. The member in training program culminates with the second ritual ceremony, or activation. You will be considered a fully initiated and active member of Gamma Sigma Sigma upon completion of the activation ceremony.

What Should I expect?

The ideal new member program is 6-8 weeks; however, it shall not exceed 8 weeks. During those weeks, new members will be guided through a scripted program by the Chapter Membership Vice President. The program is designed to educate them on history and operations and begin to develop their leadership skills. They will also have responsibilities which mirror those of the initiated members. This can include participation requirements, dues, having leadership positions and upholding the standards of the Sorority.
